Bug in USM NFS presentation
Has anyone noticed there is a problem when using the USM plugin to present an existing NFS export to a new set of hosts? When the plugin set's the permissions on the export it is not checking to see if the server already has rights and it is also duplicating the entries that are already in the permissions box. We were getting an error trying to add an NFS export to a new cluster and when I checked the permissions in Unisphere I saw that there were 2000+ characters in the permissions field, some entries were in there 32 times! Since DART code only accepts up to 255 characters in that field and ignores the rest this has made a real mess that I now have to go back through manually.

ok, I just cleaned up the list and then used the plugin to add the export to a new set of hosts. Here is what it did. It took my existing permissions, left them in there but copied them and appended them to the end along with the individual IP's for the 3 new hosts. so now I have 2 copies of the exact same info and 6 new individual IP's. Also, even though when I cleaned it up I included an entire subnet for access, of which these new hosts are part of that subnet. It still added them by individual IP.

This appears to be an issue in the plug-in, thanks for sending along the information. Could you also grab the logs for these actions? Send them to myself, ken.collins@emc.com, and I will get them to the team.
Go to the VSI logging feature, select the Unified Storage Management feature in the drop down list. Then copy/paste (or however you prefer to grab the logs) and send to me via email.....
Thanks,
Ken
