Zero space reclaim on FLASH arrays ?
Can someone point me to a documentation on zero space reclaim using symdev reclaim on all flash vmax arrays and how to use it and when to use it.
I can find a old document refering to symmetrix arrays.

In my mind, VMAX AFA won't write "all Zero" down to backend. If it detects all coming writes are zero to new space, it just acknowledges back done.
I am not sure if writing zero to existing space will have space been reclaimed automatically. Need to check it.If yes then no Zero space reclaim needed anymore on AFA.

If compression is enabled on the storage group, then you're correct. Zeros will be stripped out before the data reaches the drive.
If compression is disabled on the storage group, however, zeros will still be written to disks and Zero Space Reclaim would still be necessary.
