Open Replicator Cold Pull from VMAX20K to VMAX20K, windows server

Hi, 

I am migrating a windows server using OR Cold Pull from VMAX20K to VMAX20K.

All zoned and masked, symsan from the remote array shows FA to Control FA, as record complete.

Server is up and running and I am I am running symrcopy create command to test that all is okay. Then once the Windows server is shutdown in a few days time, I will run the activate command to migrate it.  

symrcopy create -name -file -pull -cold

And it fails with message 'An rcopy remote device discover error occurred'

Has this failed as the windows source server need to be shutdown even when only creating the symrcopy session?

Does Windows keep on lock on devices preventing this create to succeed?

Is there not a way of testing that all looks okay, prior to the migration event, if we cant use symrcopy create?
