Migration SRDF /NDM Windows Server with native MPIO
hi
i am in process for a SRDF/NDM migration from VMAX10K to VMAX3 all flash, but i got many issues with the windows server by using Native MPIO, this customer is not using EMC powerpath, the main concern here is that when i performed the cutover operation the windows server lost all luns and i need to reboot the server to discover back the luns.
is there any step to perfom on the windows server before the cutover operation?
I dont know if rescaning with native multipath fix it, but i dont know how to do that?
any idea, tip or step??
Best regards

You need to perform a HBA rescan on windows and make sure you see new paths before performing the cutover.
After rescan, the NDM status should be shown as CutOverReady.
From command line you can issue Diskpart and rescan commands.
If you have emulex or qlogic HBA's, you can install OneCommand manager or SAN Surfer to perform the HBA rescan.
You can also use Disk Management. Under actions, rescan. You can right click on each disk and go to MPIO tab to see how many paths are configured for each disk.
