Cache - VMAX ALL FLASH

Hello, I just need further clarifications regarding the VMAX All FLASH & its cache , how things works ... If we are considering an all flash system then shall we consider to address cache size, all flash shouldn't relay on cache so i need to know if cache is really important in all flash design and should be addressed in such solutions. comparing other systems is cache size is one of the factors that need to be addressed then ? and why how it will be used by the solution .

Cache on an AFA is still critical to the design and architecture. A read from cache is still much faster than a read from an SSD. Cache holds critical metadata that requires very fast access. Writing to cache is faster than writing to SSD.

The AFA removes the slowest link in the storage access chain - the spinning disk. Memory is also orders of magnitude faster than SSD storage, so still plays a central role in an AFA.
