Windows update KB4023057
Seems that Microsoft released an "out-of-band" update: KB4023057 - Update for Windows 10 Update Service components.
"This update includes reliability improvements to Windows Update Service components in Windows 10, versions 1507, 1511, 1607, 1703, 1709, 1803, 1909, 2004, 20H2, and 21H1. It may take steps to free up disk space on your device if you do not have enough disk space to install Windows updates."
Not wild about it compressing files to make room for Windows updates, but doesn't seem to be a way to avoid installing it.
Anybody install it yet?

I just installed it... and it only took a few seconds (no reboot). I'll let you know if I encounter any problems...
I have plenty of empty/available disk storage, so I don't know that it will need to compress anything.
It would appear that it's [potentially] doing a lot of good things: Microsoft pushes Windows 10 KB4023057 again to fix update issues (bleepingcomputer.com)

@ky331 Thanks. I read about the KB on Microsoft's site already.
Rather curious they released it out-of-band. They could have released it on a regular MS Tuesday and just set it to be installed first, so the PC was ready for whatever other updates were being offered at the same time.
But what do I know...?
