Will browser updates break websites?

Many websites will only recognize compatible browser version numbers with 2 digits ahead of the decimal point, eg v95.0. So happens when the version number roles over to 100, which both Firefox and Chrome updates are rapidly approaching?

Read more here about testing to see if your own site or other sites you use will work with Chrome 100. And here for Firefox v100.
