Remark:   I personally have not used Java in years, and have not felt the loss.   
I maintain Java at work, since some programs we use need (or at least, needed) it.

There are also some newer versions 11.x and 14.x , which apparently offer a fuller Java Development Kit (JDK) for people creating Java applications.   I don't see JRE for 11 nor 15.
