New Scam Format (to me, at least)

My email has been inundated with requests and warnings lately, for such things as:
- Your McAfee is about to expire RENEW NOW (I don't use McAfee)
- Your order is ready to deliver Click here to confirm
- Confirmation Needed! Your subscription will expire.

These emails will typically have a placeholder icon for an image that is clickable.

My email address is in the format jxxxxxx@xxxxxx.xx (all lowercase). These scam emails are easily identified because they are addressed to Jxxxxxx, with my correct last name all lowercase preceded by an uppercase J. Sometimes the sender is identified as Jxxxxxx.

Interestingly, none of my security programs/scans flag or block these obvious malwares.

Easy to identify, easy to delete without clicking anything.

Just an FYI.

I get "a handful" of those... can't say I'm "inundated".   Usually, they're automatically filtered into my spam folder... and then I just delete them without opening.

I wonder whether (and hope that) my security program(s) would intercept an attack if I actually clicked on a link or icon in such an e-mail... but I don't plan to try out testing them.
