Microsoft forcing SYNC of Edge Chromium
One of the "optional" settings in Edge (Chromium) is SYNC: "Microsoft Edge can sync your history, favorites, passwords, and other browser data across all your signed-in devices".
I had intentionally DISabled that setting, as I had somewhat different settings over my various devices (typically due to differences in screen resolution).
I've now been "informed", on two separate systems, that SYNC has been activated! As a result, I've seen a mixture/hodgepodge of settings "merging" between those two systems. While I'm gradually resetting my customization --- based on what's happening in EDGE on my primary home Win10 system --- it's been an annoying experience.
I would have much preferred MSFT not to "force" SYNC on me... or at least, allow me to specify which system should be considered the "master", and which were to "follow" that lead. I dread what may happen when I open EDGE at work... I don't need work settings taking-over my home systems.
I guess I can try turning sync off... and hope it'll stay that way...

And if you haven't done it, you probably also want to disable "Assistance from Microsoft Edge” so you block them from accessing your search patterns so they can "improve Bing". To do this, click on the Manage settings option and opt out.

This topic reinforces my my worst impressions of Edge Chromium, Bing search, and MS updates in general.
We have not really been able to control our computer software since Windows XP. Updates are now largely taken from our control. Bing is a good case in point.
I consider Bing an invasive pest that resists deletion. At best I can keep it at bay, but that requires that the eaves-dropping Cortana pest has to be disabled (no real loss). And Bing still keeps cropping up. It is a veritable whack-a-mole.
MS updates and new OS versions come fast and furious. And each new version changes the user interface just enough to obfuscate any path to deletion of undesired features. One can Google how to delete a given MS "feature", but unless the solution was posted within the last few weeks the odds are the solution is outdated.

Edge is also popping up annoying "Start" ads in lower right corner of the screen for their re-branded MSN.
Haven't seen any hacks posted on the net to block their popup ads, so the only way out may be to install a 3rd party ad-blocker. And/or use a different browser...
