Malicious Firefox Extensions
Mozilla's security blog announced this week it discovered some add-ons were acting maliciously so has decided to block them. The company estimates some 455,000 users might be affected. The security blog mentions only two specific add-ons without detailing what they do.
Mozilla said it discovered that these extensions are misusing its proxy API. That prevented users who installed these add-ons from downloading updates, accessing updated blocklists, and updating remotely-configured content.
Read the blog for instructions to check to see if these extensions are on your PC.
