Fake Dell Support Calls
I received the fake support calls mentioned in earlier posts. However, there is a twist: I got the same call just 15 minutes ago. What is scaring me about the call is that I haven't had my Dell desktop on for months because it hasn't worked since the last time Dell tech support "fixed" it. I finally used a restore point to get it working for all of 4 hours yesterday before it crashed again. I'd been rebooting repeatedly to get into safe mode and get it to work when I received a call saying, "We've noticed you've had repeat booting incidents on your computer." Where is the spyware that's causing this?

It's possible it was just a spam call... I get calls telling me they've detected a problem on my iPad, when I don't even have an Apple! As well as receiving calls from "Microsoft", "Tech Support", and other con-artists.
The frequent rebooting may just be a coincidence.
So unless they said something which was "personally identifiable"... such as knowing your machine's serial number (which would indicate spyware, or someone having access to DeLL's internal records), I wouldn't worry about it.
