CCleaner Trying To Take Over

In the last week or so I started to get nag screens about installing latest version. No explanation or any other option available. Now, this morning I go the shortcut to open the program, and I get the same nag screen, the only button to press is INSTALL, which of course I won't do. Anyone else notice this behavior? It won't even let me run a scan. Possible malware? The install screen just popped up again right now, so I have no option other to delete the program entirely. Any better cleaners available?

Just went and did a search on this program, and can see it has several troublesome issues. So it's now gone and forgotten. One more minor quibble....it sure has become a pain to sign into this forum, but I guess it's all necessary
