vfoglight 6.7 database size

we monitor 2 vcenters that have 220 hosts and 2200 vm guests.  we do this all with one fms.  we have the rollup set to managed and it should purge data older then 4 months.  Not sure that is happening.  how can i ensure the purge is happening as it should?  our database is 332gbs and growing...

Hi Chris - there was a bug in this Foglight core wouldn't remove old data, eg - if you orignally left your vFoglight retention policy to keep everything for ever, then a year later decided to change it to 4 months, the data between 4 months and a year wouldn't be deleted - check out this KB artcle on how to fix it.... https://support.quest.com/SolutionDetail.aspx?id=SOL52431&pr=Foglight&st=Published

An easy way to check to see if the data is actually been removed is to use the Zoner at the top of console and set it to a date older than 4 months, all the VM charts, dials etc should be greyed out if there is no data. The purge is actually completed by the 'Daily Database Maintenance' task, this should be listed in Administration/Manage Schedules. If this is disabled or missing no purging will be taking place.

Hope that helps - Danny
