vfoglight 6.7 and os monitoring

How many os monitors can i safely run to monitor my vm os's on each agent manager?

Please be aware that Infrastructure agents are not designed to understand the Hypervisor layer and hence if you use them to collect CPU/Disk/Memory/Network metrics for a VM then you will get all skewed values. Another, and probably much bigger, issue is since VMware agent is already collecting those metrics, adding Infrastructure agent to also collect them will mess up all the data.

That's the reason I asked what specifically are you planning with the IC agents.

Hello Chris,

Could you please clarify what are you trying to monitor via IC agents (since OS carts will be retired soon it is recommended to use IC cart) on your VMs?

We need to be able to monitor services, event logs. But more importantly we want OS up time %. The vmware one only gives uptime from a vm layer perspective.
