Is there anything simailar to vCentre infrastructure navigator in vFoglight 6.7 that i can use??
Hi All,
I am just wondering if there is anything equivalent to VMware Infrastructure Navigator in vFoglight 6.7 that we can use to collect server and service/port dependencies.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Ash.

There is a core feature that has been out for awhile called Dependancy Mapping. This cartridge can do similar things in mapping out what different hosts/vms are talking to others and what that communication is and build relationships based on those communication paths. Here are some release notes for the latest build http://edocs.quest.com/foglight/562/files/CartridgeForDependencyMapping_562_ReleaseNotes.html

Would this cartridge work with Vfoglight? I tried to install it and had trouble. Support told me that it would not work with vFoglight. ( I was on version 6.6 at the time , I am now on 6.7...btw VFoglight 6.7 has by far been the best upgrade so far. Lots of good things and better performance.)

The Dependency Mapping cartidge is included in the Applications Operations package. A new version of Application Operations (5.7.1) was released today. This package requires Foglight Management Server 5.6.4.2 or later, which matches vFoglight 6.7 or higher. Foglight Agent Manager 5.6.2.4 or later must be installed on all the hosts that you want to use for local or remote monitoring.
The new version includes visualizations of transaction flows from end users to Java app servers to databases with associated timings in addition to the dependency relationships provided by the Netstat agent.
