First time collection....
Hi,
We are having trouble with vOPS standard in our VMware environment. It seems like the "first-time-collection" after the installation time outs. We have a pretty big environment spread all over the country in different data centers.
Can we change some kind of time-out value etc. For now vOPS only collects about 20% of our environment.

Hi There,
There are many factors in what will affect performance on vOPS. Too many to go over without more information. Few questions:
How big is "big?" vOPS Standard can handle between 2000-3000 VMs before it starts having problems, and while we support multiple vCenters on an appliance, we generally see the best performance when those vCenters are in the same geographic location as the appliance, or at least provided with a high-speed link between them. What kind of speed do you have to these remote datacenters?
In addition, what stats logging levels are your vCenters set to?
What kind of back-end storage is vOPS connected to?
You can also try placing an 8GB memory reservation on vOPS to ensure there's no memory fragmentation or hypervisor swapping.

Hi,
Tasks retained for: 1095 days
Events retained for: 1095 days
Database connections, maximum number: 50
Connection Timeout, Normal Operations 30 sek, Long Operations 120 sek.
¨
As a side-note, almost every host has a red mark (host in shutdown) on them in the left pane.....very odd.....

We are still struggling with this problem. We have a supprt case open, but nothing happens!!?? 1 month has passed....

I'm sorry to hear you're having this problem. Can you give me the support case ID? I could possibly look up the status of your case to see what's happening.
