ESXi 5.0 U1 is Out now what?

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know if MEM 1.1 and OMSA 6.5 are compatible with ESXi 5.0 u1? I've been running it in my lab now since monday but, I don't want to deploy into production until there is official support form Del.

Thanks,

Jim

They should be fine as "U" based updates are only patches and security updates, no need feature sets or APIs. If you want to get an official word, I would open a ticket with EQL engineering and I am sure they can answer officially.

Hi Jim,

How did you get on with your vSphere 5.0 Update 1 upgrade?. I tried to use VUM to apply Update 1 and other patches from 15th March 2012 as a grouped baseline to my Dell R710 hosts furnished with Dell Customized ESXi 5.0:

www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats

I also ensured to upgrade vCenter 5 to Update 1 and also VUM to Update 1 before attempting any host upgrade.

VUM fails with error message "The uploaded upgrade package cannot be used with VMware vSphere Update Manager".

By matter of elimination, if I attempt to apply any of the patches on their own, it also fails with the same error message - Scanning or Remediating!.

Any ideas Jim, John ?.

Best Regards

Bob

Hi People,

I solved my problem.

The Update Manager DB was corrupted after VUM Update 1 upgrade. At the installation wizard step choose to replace DB with new empty one.
