Welcome to a new product documentation experience
You told us you want content accessible and available when YOU need it, on whatever device you are using. You reminded us that you don't have the time, or desire, to wade through a lengthy document when you just need to know how to do a task or solve a problem. You also said it would be nice to be able to share your experiences or best practices and get recommendations from other users of the product. We listened.
The ViPR family product documentation, starting with ViPR SRM 3.5, is available as articles posted in the ViPR Community, and publicly available via search engine. The articles are designed to be "self contained", meaning that all the information you need to complete a task or learn about a concept is in the article. An article may include links within it to facilitate navigation. It may have links to supplemental information in other articles or videos -- suggested reading or viewing.
We have implemented a "Product Documentation Index" to act as the one-stop source for all the articles and guides published for a specific release. This categorized list can be used to find all the release information, with each item acting as an active link to take you directly to the selected article. The index for a release appears under the header Product Documentation Index in the Download and Support sections. It can also be found under the Content tab using "vipr_product_index" tag as a filter.
So, try it yourself. Create a Google search to find information for ViPR SRM. Remember, the more specific your Google search (hint -- include ViPR or SRM in your how-to query), the more qualified the results. When you click on the hit, it will bring you into the Community and directly to an abstract of the article. Click READ MORE if you want to see the full article. Come back to the Community if you want to leave a comment or rate the article (you have to be logged in to comment, rate, or download an article).
If you are in the Community, you can browse for information, go to the Documentation section under the Download or Support categories, or select the Content tab and use tags to filter for items.
You can "follow" an article (including the Product Documentation Index) to be kept updated on changes or comments/questions.
We hope that you like this new experience and find it useful. Please try it and tell us what you think.
