ViPR v2 Solution Pack vApp VM no network connectivity
We are building the (free) ViPR v2.0 test environment to eval the product before we buy it. Our VMware admin successfully built the Controller VM from the .ova file provided, and I can connect via the URL. But after he built the Solution Pack vApp VM from the provided .ova file, there is no network connectivity to the SP vApp system. I can't ping it nor connect to the URL (:58080/APG). At the VM linux prompt I tried logging in as root/changeme and admin/changeme but neither password combo works.
Any idea what the linux login is? and has anyone seen this issue where there was no network connectivity to the app? The VM even tried re-building the VM and verified he put the network settings in while building the VM

Hi Michael,
I have not seen that issue before. Make sure that besides entering the right network information (IP, netmask, gateway, DNS, etc) when deploying the vApp, you are also selecting the right VM network within your vCenter environment.
Also, you normally need to wait around 10 minutes after the VM is deployed before you can log into the UI.

I was able to find the root password for the linux login, and noticed that eth0 had no defined ip information, only loopback was setup. I supposed I could try to use yast to configure the ip. Our VM guy said he tried 3x times configuring a VM from the provided file, but same result each time.

Michael,
I just downloaded the installation files and deployed the SolutionPack vApp without issues. Make sure you follow the instructions in the Quick Start guide and you should be good.

I'm using the free vipr download that has .ova files with dates of June 2014. I watched our VM admin delete the existing ViSP solutions pack VM, and then recreate it with the .ova file (EMC_MnR_1VM_vApp), following the instructions in the Quick start guide (v2.0) pdf. Before booting the VM he verified that the network config was enabled on the VM itself. He then booted up, and logged in as root. ifconfig only showed lo0, ifconfig -a showed eth0 with no network connectivity. we used yast to configure tcpip on eth0 and was able to ping and connect to it from putty. But it doesn't look like the .ova file setup the application correctly, i still can't connect to http:// :58080/APG and when the machine boots, it gives errors on the runonce.apg_install script. When i run that script manually it fails with this message: Unable to find a valid OVF properties file, exiting script!
Do these work for your v2.0 install of the SolutionPack vApp ?
