ViPR Controller can get a current VPLEX / SAN switchs Configuration
Hi Everyone.
Currently, we have the next scenario:
- One (1) VNX7500 with Pools and Luns defined and used by many servers (Aix, Linux, Windows).
- Two (2) switchs DCX8510-4B
- One (1) VPLEX Local with two Engines.
All this infrastructure is already installed and working 2 years ago.
Now, they brought ViPR Controller ...
My question is ... ViPR can get the current configuration (VPLEX virtual volumes, VNX Pools and Luns, switches, Zone configuration) ... ? ...

Hello. ViPR can provision in greenfield or existing environments. Once discovered,ViPR can create volumes on the VNX, zone the switches, and export VPLEX virtual volumes to a host or cluster. Currently, ViPR cannot ingest (take control of) VPLEX virtual volumes that are in a Storage View. That support is coming in the major ViPR release in Q4.
To provision more VPLEX virtual volumes to a cluster, you need a Storage View for each host of the cluster. Here is some documentation that can help.
