SRM VIPR 3.5 delete vCenter

Good days,

we installed the VAPP VIPR SRM 3.5 (4) , and we have configured two NETAPP 7-Mode and three vCenter, and we've found with these problems:

  • When we delete one of the vCenter of the collector and the events, the vCenter is not deleted from the reports and still continues to collect data of this vCenter.

  • In the other two vCenter, does not reflect the changes being made in them of the infrastructure, we have created another cluster and this is not reflected in the reports of SRM.

The permissions that we have given to the SRM user VIPR vCenter is read-only.

Many thanks for all

Hi

Can you confirm which way you deleted the VCenter in question from discovery was it from Administration >> Centralized Management >> Discovery Center >> VMware vCenter OR was it from Administration >> Centralized Management SolutionPacks >> Infrastructure >> VMware vCenter >> Selecting data collection and deleting the VCenter data from under Primary VMware vCenter configuration along with doing a reconfiguring the Solution Pack?

On the Vmware Vcenter Solution Pack host review the vmware-collector.xml file within \opt\APG\Collecting\VMWare-Collector\vmware-vcenter\conf do you still see the removed VCenter details under the < > tag?

If so please go to Administration >> Centralized Management SolutionPacks >> Infrastructure >> VMware vCenter

Selecting data collection and ensure the VCenter details which you wish to no longer discover is not listed if it is please remove. Select the reconfigure button and the required files will be updated along with a restart of the Vmware Collector.

Review the vmware-collector.xml which should no longer show the VCenter details and the collector will not collect details

If SRM is still collecting fresh data for the VCenter which you removed from collection please open a SR with support attaching the required Diagnostic logs

A full set of Diagnostic logs can be collected from Host where the Solution Pack for VMware is installed which will include the collecting logs by running the SRM diagnostic script

Linux: /opt/APG/bin/diagnostic.sh

Windows: C:\Program Files\APG\bin\diagnostic.cmd

Once finished running, the Diagnostic Tool will output the data it gathered in a tarball (Linux) or a zip file (Windows)

Attach the file to the SR when you have it opened.

For the second issue where your data is not updating correctly for VCenter revuew the collector logs for errors with collecting the data from the VCenters and ensure that the database import-properties task completes on the Front-end host.

Use the Metric Management module available from Administration ->Modules ->Metric Management to query the metrics which are not updating for the VCenter reports and check the last timestamp they were added to the database.

It would be best also to get an SR open for support to review this issue if you cannot see any issues from the logs etc...

Regards

Conor

Thank you, we have solved, there was an error in the DNS that I was doing incorrectly the reverse resolution and the services were not working properly. And were not updating reports or the collector.

Thank you for everything
