SRM 3.6
Hi,
We upgraded to 3.6.1 last week and I've to say I'm quite impressed with the whole experience. The thing that I'm most psyched about is that a lot of our feedback, from EMC World, is incorporated in there. In the four years that I've been to EMC World, this is a first! Here is shout out to Gaytri and Florian whom I spoke to at length.
Now a couple of questions -
1. I see two folders for pretty much all the platforms in the Alerting module. Is this a known issue?
2. Are we supporting HP arrays behind VPLEX yet?
Thanks!

Glad to know that your feedback made it in, Mr. Smith.
Yes, #1 is a known issue. You would need to manually delete the "older" definitions. Note that the latest 3.6 versions of alert definitions are found in the folders ending with the term 'definitions'. I believe this is documented in the upgrade doc.
For #2, what specific HP model do you have in your environment? We added support for HP 3PAR behind VPLEX with 3.6. However, HP P9000's are not supported yet.
HTH.

#1 - There is no way to delete the entire folder? Is the expectation that we delete an alert at a time!? That's not good at all...
#2 - When is support for P9000 behind VPLEX coming?

Hi,
In reference to the P9000, this is a public community, so unfortunately we cannot provide information about future releases here. Please contact your EMC account team, who can forward the question to us.

Hi again,
Unfortunately there is no way to delete the entire top level folder. However, you could go to the subfolders, select all and delete. So it's not a one click operation but is not as bad as you would think.
I hope this helps...
Thanks,
-Gayatri

Ok, I guess it's better than having to delete them one at a time. Thanks.

Is ViPR SRM 3.6 GA yet?
We are having a nightmare with 3.5 and EMC's recommendation is to do a fresh install with 3.6. However, I am not in favour of doing that if it is not GA.
Any official word?
Regards
Michael
