Question about ViPR Controller VM CPU Requirement
Hi All,
I am working on a project to implement ViPR. We are going to implement the 5-VM configuration. We have provided the ViPR support matrix to the customer. The customer is asking the following questions about the CPU requirement of "4 vCPUs per VM - each vCPU = 1 physical core of Intel Xeon E5 or E7 families with 2.4 GHz or higher speed" (taken from the latest ViPR support matrix):
1. 4 vCPUs are required per VM. This means that 4 physical cores are required per VM. Does the physical cores need to be dedicated to that VM? If so, for a 5 VM configuration, does this mean that 20 physical cores are required to run the 5-VM configuration?
2. If the customer has a faster processor (greater than 2.4 GHz) can they number of vCPUs be reduced to two vCPUs?
Any responses are appreciated!
Thank you,
Luke
