I can't associate a VNX Storage Pool into a ViPR Virtual Pool using FC Protocol
I have discoved my VNX5300 with sucess, and configured a SMI-S Provider, inside ViPR Physical Assets.
I created a Virtual Array and now I can't associate VNX Pool to it.

Hi Ricardo,
When you install CMCNE with the SMI Agent only, you should have a shortcut on your start menu to go to the CMCNE "Server Management Console". In that console, you will see a button that says "Configure SMI Agent...". Click that and you will see a link for Fabric discovery, that will open a dialog where you should add your switches/fabrics.
Once the fabrics are fully discovered in that console, ViPR will also discover them via the SMI provider.

Have you discovered your fabric switches? Did you add these networks to your Virtual Storage Array. Once you discover your switches you should be able to add the VSANS to the VSA. I assume you have pools created on your VNX already?

Hi Andrew,
Thank you very much for your help.
I have discovered my switches, using Connectrix Manager, and I have created VNX Storage Pool too.
The ViPR can see the VNX Storage Pool inside the virtual pool too.
My problem is at moment to associate this Storage Pool with Virtual Pool. The process works only in case to associate it with iscsi protocol, but don't work with FC Protocol. When I try to provisioning a LUN to a server, I received a error
message that server don't have initiators to VNX by protocol iscsi.
See the image: " No matching pools" when I select FC and ISCSI Protocol
When I select FC Protocol, the storage pool disapear.
The VNX have 4 HBAs connected in SAN switch, with zoning to ESX hosts.

Hi Ricardo,
You have to check that the right networks have been added to your virtual array.
In your case, the virtual array should have an IP network used for iSCSI with the iSCSI host initiators from your host/s and the iSCSI targets from the VNX, and also one or more FC networks coming from your Brocade FC switches. That FC network/s should have both the storage ports WWNs from your VNX and the HBA WWN from your host, so they can communicate.
Hope this helps.

If you want to export make sure you register the ign's on the host. If the virtual storage pool will only be iscsi just select it for the VSP. If FC just select FC. As mentioned above you need to create the ip network.

Javier/Andrew,
Thank you very much for your feedback.
I don't want to use iSCSI, but only FC.
I'm using a SMI-S provide installed in Windows VM, and the discover of VNX Unified was done perfect, but the FC FC Networks didn't generate automatically, after VNX discover by SMI-S Provider.
Fabric Managers are configured by CMCNE.
My VNX have all Initiators present.
In Virtual Assets + Networks, I can't see the Network for type "FC" Discovered automatically.
Do you know how to register WWPN's in network environment to associate it in Virtual Pools?
Is anything else to do in Fabric Manager to permit the WWN discover of VNX inside the Networks?

Ok, so now we know what the source of the problem is.
What version of CMCNE are you using?

Javier,
I installed CMCNE 12.1.5 ( SMI Agent only) for Windows.

This is probably an obvious question, but have you discovered your brocade switches from your Brocade SMI-S configuration tool?
Thanks

Javier,
I installed CMCNE with SMI Agent only, because I don't have full licensed version.
I think that it is my problem. The fabric manager is registred in ViPR physical assets, but I can't see my Fabrics (DS-300B). How can I do to make a discover Brocade SMI-S configuration tool. Do you know how?
Thanks!

Javier,
Very good. I was inside the SMI-S Provider server when I saw you last message.
I'll make the discover and and I'll let you know.

Javier,
I made the procedure, clicking in the link "Fabric Discovery", but nothing happened. Will it open any screen?
Now, I think the problem might be in the Java. Do you know wich file or CLI that I can use to do this without click in the link?
Thank you very much!
