WS2022 DC - Lost LUN when MPIO is installed

I have this problem where a new install of Windows Server 2022 Datacenter on DELL R650 doesn't show any of the DELL Unity LUNs as available disks on Disk MGMT to format.

iSCSI Initiator settings show the LUNs correctly recognized.

MPIO settings have iSCSI Multipath checked

When I uninstall the MPIO service I can see the LUNs as available disks on Disk MGMT, but they show repeated the number of path the server has available

Event viewer shows an error that tells "an error occurred while the system tried to claim a Multipath I/O path"

Any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for your question. Are other devices able to connect to it with multipath? Are the server and the storage on the same subnet? Does this show the storage? https://dell.to/3Z55IC4 or https://dell.to/40liq0I   You may need to call phone support.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hey, I got the same problem, where you able to solve the problem? As soon as we enable MPIO, die LUNs are gone and the devices for the session are named "Disk-1". Thank you!

Glad to know I'm not the only one, because both Dell and Microsoft sure made me feel that way.

Dell is currently trying to recreate my environment on theirs labs to investigate further.

I'll update as soon as I have news

It's a known issue and hopefully will be fixed in the future.

You can use Dell PowerPath as a remedy instead of Microsoft MPIO

Running into the same issue except I have Dell performing the setup and they ran into this issue and had to elevate to their support...

We did not pay for PowerPath so I do not have access to this. Anyone maybe have another solution?
