Moving Unity XT 380 to new power source
Hello – We have a Unity XT 380 device (DPE) with an additional disk enclosure (DAE), both of which we need to migrate to a different power source. Both have 2 power sources (A0 and B0) for a total of 4 plugs. My plan was to move these one at a time to the new PDU’s. So, first move A0 on the DPE to its new PDU and wait for it to fully come back up. Then move B0 on the DPE to its new PDU and wait for it to come back up, and then move A0 on the DAE to its new PDU…, etc. Is there anything I should take into consideration with the XT 380 before doing this? Or is there something I should do first? I’m thinking it should work because this is what would happen if power was lost to one side, which is the point of dual power sources. I’ve done this many times with other dual-sourced devices, but I’m fairly new to the XT 380.

Hello OFP-Mike,
You can move the plugs one at a time as a single power supply can power the entire DPE without any issues. You can also move your DAE power cables one at a time as well. It is best to do this when I/O is low so that you won’t have any issues. You will see alerts in unisphere for loss of power, and then you should see power restored messages.
