Disk Verification

In our order to Dell EMC, we requested 1.8TB 10K drives with part number 400-BFXO. However, the drives delivered and installed on the DAEs are from Seagate, with part number 1XJ233-031.

I would like to know precisely whether these drives are certified by Dell EMC, considering that there is no Dell EMC part number, label, or hologram on them.

Additionally, are there any performance or compatibility differences between these drives and the original Dell EMC-branded drives when used in Unity storage systems?

Hello Expertexchange0,

Which Unity system do you have as you didn’t state it in your original post? The drive 1XJ233-031 should be seen by your unity system, but to be sure we would need to know the model of your unity system.

Hello Expertexchange0,

I am not able to see the drive in the support matrix based off the part#. If you have the Model# of the drive then you can check the matrix to see which system it may go with. You can’t mix Unity and UnityXT drives.
