XPS 12 9250 Problems

During the initial setup I got a Driver_Power_State_Failure. I did the diagnostic testing and it got only about 70% of the way through. It rebooted, I expected it would come back to the diagnostics and finish, it did not. I looked for the driver updates. It found 6. They all seemed to want a restart after the install so I did them one at a time.  It installed the first one. The second was Intel 2D input driver. Installation failed. With the driver power state failure,  the diagnostic tests failing at 70% and having driver installations failing does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should proceed with this thing ? Thanks in advance for any help. At this point I am ready to contact Dell and ask how to send it back to them to have these problems fixed. If there is something I can do on my end and avoid that it would be preferable.

Hi jaytee607,

Thanks for posting.

This happens because of old or corrupted drivers. Updating the driver is most likely to solve the problem. Sometimes you may need to get rid of the corrupt driver using the safe boot option and do a fresh installation.
