Windows 10 Venue 8 Pro (5830) Orientation, Driver, Boot, and Camera Problems
I've been having Camera Problems for some time now. When I attempt to open the Camera App, I get a message that the Camera is not connected. I've been trying to fix this through various methods, none of which work, and all of a sudden, I start getting an Orientation problem.
A couple of days ago, I attempted to boot, and the machine would only boot to the Portrait mode. Tilting, rotating, etc. would not change the orientation. I went into settings and was able to get the Venue into Landscape, and it would stay there until the next time I booted. It always boots into Portrait, an orientation I rarely use.
I figured that maybe my problem was a driver and I checked the Device Manager. Everything looked good there. I then went to Dell Support and ran the driver checker. They told me that I needed to update the Chipset Intel Atom Z3000 Series Driver, so I started the download. The download finished and the machine began the install. Almost immediately, I got the error message that the "Installation Failed". I tried again and again, failure.
I next looked into the Device Manager to see if I could find where this driver fit, thinking I could delete the driver in the machine and that the new one would be automatically installed. After going through the Device Manager thoroughly, I did not find the driver.
By the way ... at one point earlier today, I could not even get the machine to boot. It froze at the screen you get prior to the login screen. About 15 reboot attempts finally worked and the machine will again boot.
I then tried to reset the tablet and was given another error message that it could not be done.
I'm in a world of hurt, here. Any suggestions?

Ok, no answers, so here is my solution ...
I broke down and decided to go the hard route ... to format the drive and reinstall Windows 10 and all the software. It's a heck of job. The first thing is to assemble all the hardware needed to make this work.
Needed Hardware:
1. A Dell Adapter to allow Power and a full size USB Connection to be made simultaneously. I got one from Dell for about $20.
2. A USB Hub with a minimum of 4 input slots.
3. USB Keyboard
4. USB Mouse
5. USB Wireless Network Adapter
6. USB Windows 10 32bit Installer
7. Lots of Patience.
Connect the USB Hub with the Dell Adapter (1.) and insert Power line into Dell Adapter, Attach this to the Tablet into the mini (or is it micro?) USB slot.
Hold the Power switch and the Volume Up Switch down at the same time until the tablet boots into BIOS. Change the Boot Order by using the Volume Up button so that the tablet will boot from the USB Windows 10 installer and follow the prompts.
Once Win 10 has installed, make sure you have a wireless connection, and go to Dell Support to download and install the Chipset Driver.Your Venue 8 Pro should now allow touchscreen and Orientation. Download and install whatever other drivers you need, and all your software. Configure and you're back in business.
Wow, that only took me 6 hours, but everything works, now, including my camera

The first and most important Dell Driver was the Chipset Driver. Without that one, not much of anything works correctly. But be sure to keep a copy of the Chipset Driver exe as other drivers may, in fact, and they did with me, cause the Chipset Driver to not work properly. If and when that happens, just reinstall the Chipset Driver. The order, other than the Chipset, was to just go down the list with the drivers I wanted. I did not install all the drivers. For example, I passed on the LTE Communication Drivers.
I did have one problem not noted above, as I did not realize I had it when I wrote above. For some reason, the Windows 10 Operating System did not automatically Activate like it was supposed to. I solved that problem by going to the Windows 10 Store and contacting an MS agent over the internet. She was able to place a Product Key on my machine remotely and everything seems to work properly.

Greetings.
I appreciate that your memory may be hazy with being concerned if the installation WILL work, but specifically which Dell applications, drivers etc did you install and (if you remember) in what order? Dell make a thing about the best order to install. There are an increasing number have gone that way and until/unless Dell produce an idiots guide it would be nice to find out what has worked (and especially what hasn't!) .

Thanks rwcoover. I will try inserting the Win10 Key that I captured when I did an upgrade to Win 10 and see if that helps with Activation when I do the clean install. It is good to know that the chip drivers re-installed correctly.
