Venue Pro phone, forgotten password

I have a Venue Pro phone from the dark ages.  I haven't switched it on for years, but now I wish to take it overseas and use it with a foreign SIM.  The problem is that I don't know what password I used and it seems that I have to get into the phone in order to do a factory reset. 

Is there a hardware method to do a factory reset?

Does anyone have any suggestions?
