Venue Pro 11 Keyboard

We recently purchased several new Venues with keyboards. I notice that the keyboards have a charging port, but are physically impossible to access when connected to the Venue. My question is..... if the Venue is actively being charged, is the keyboard also getting charged, or do you have to charge both separately? Thanks
