Venue 8 Pro - Did I Find a Fix for the Wi-Fi?

I somehow managed to get Wi-Fi working properly after several failed attempts. I'm no longer experiencing 'limited connection' issues after returns from sleep (or reboots). I've done some incentive testing during the last four or five hours and so far on both of my two Venue 8 Pros I have rock-solid, instant connections. If one of those of you who still have the issue and is willing to give it another try do the following: (0) Download the latest Wi-Fi driver for the Venue 8 Pro: 5830_Network_Driver_4XGPM_WN_3.7.2.45425_A02 (1) Completely de-install the current driver package using the Qualcomm/Atheros utility via Control Panel - Programs - Uninstall. Then reboot as requested. (2) Check with Device Manager that truly all instances of those driver are gone. Device Manager should list two unknown devices and should be unable to find any drivers for these devices when told so by pushing the 'Scan for Hardware Changes' icon in it's command bar. (3) Delete this hidden folder: 'C:\ProgramData\Qualcom Atherton Mobile'. (4) Delete this hidden folder: 'C:\ProgramData\Dell'. You might prefer to rename that folder instead. (5) Install the latest Wi-Fi driver for the Venue 8 Pro downloaded in step (0), then reboot. As de-installation causes the loss of all known Wi-Fi profiles, you have to re-enter their credentials again when trying to connect. Please report back..

Appears, Wi-Fi still doesn't survive a prolonged (overnight) sleep, but since, before going through this procedure, I had these 'limited connections' regardless of how long the Venue 8 Pro was asleep, being it a minute or an hour, I consider it quite an enhancement.

Thanks for this but it did not work for me.

I have determined based on other posts and my observation that the problem is caused by the wireless N connection and possibly the type of router.  In my case, it was not reconnecting to wireless N at my home or work and I am pretty sure we have two different kinds of routers.

At home I was able to split my wifi into two separate networks with different SSIDs for 5 ghz (n) and 2.4 ghz (g).  When I connect the Dell Venue Pro to the G network, it is rock solid.  It wakes the wifi fine even after long sleep periods.

It is a reasonable work around for me because I use my device mostly at home and I can deal with reconnecting it manually when I am at work or elsewhere, although this is preventing me from putting out the $39 for the stylus because it is not a tool that I would use for notes at work.
