Venue 7140 and Power Companion?

Hi I was wondering if anyone had bought a power companion for their Venue?  I am wondering if it does a real charge, or just a trickle like most other power banks.  I am also seeing conflicting info on whether it is compatible or not.

In the info page for the power companion, it lists it in the compatible devices...

but in this knowledge base article, it says it is not supported...

Any info would be greatly appreciated, as I would love to find a portable charging option for this thing.
