Venue 11 Pro (7139) Fingerprint Biometrics and Smart Card Reader...
The 7139 Venue 11 Pro includes the Biometric Fingerprint Reader as well as a Smart Card Reader, interesting features of this particular model. Are these natively usable in Windows 8.1 somehow? ...or are these something that must rely on some 3rd party software to work? I, maybe stupidly, assumed that once the drivers are installed correctly would perhaps trigger some user options like being able to use one or the other or both as user login credentials, or that there maybe some control panel options for these devices somewhere. All I see is that these devices are in Device Manager and are functioning correctly, but nothing else.
So how do you use these devices?

Turns out the cable for the fingerprint reader was not seated correctly, once it was I was able to add a fingerprint into user properties, that's good, although now that it "works" and I use that term loosely, it seems to sometimes work and sometimes not. After several successful logins it just seems to stop responding and defaults back to a typed password prompt. Then you reboot, it works again for a while then goes away again. Am I the only one with this problem? ...err, lack of response to my original post maybe I should ask, does anyone else use this feature? ..or tried to?
I still see nothing in any configuration or control panel or anywhere else where the SmartCard is referred to. So there the question still stays the same, how do you use the smart card reader? Does it require some 3rd party software?
