USB Mouse mysteriously disappeared on Venue 8 Pro 5830

Well, this tablet was great for about two years.  Now the USB mouse has inexplicably disappeared.  I want to say this is on Windows 10; I don't think Dell had anything to do with it.  Over two years I've been able to use this thing perfectly fine with a USB mouse that was plugged into the dongle that Dell produced earlier (had a charging port and a regular USB port that merged into a single OTG that plugged into the microusb on the tablet).

Now I can't find my mouse cursor.  Windows detects the USB being plugged in, because every time I unplug and plug back in the USB mouse receiver into the dongle, Windows makes that "detected USB" sound, and Device Manager states that a USB mouse has connected.

I don't understand.  Is this a graphics problem?  It says the mouse is there, but I can't see it.  Nor can I click on anything.   Anyone else having this problem?

Hi Capgaius,

Thank you for reaching out to Dell Community Forum.

Can you try the dongle and mouse on another system and check if you have the same issue.

This will help eliminate an operating system issue.

Please click my DELL-username and send me a Private Message with the Dell Service Tag number and your email address.
