Stuck on the Blue Automatic Repair screen
I have a Dell Venue 11 pro and it was working just fine a couple of days ago. Then one morning I go to start it up and the dell logo comes on and then preparing automatic repair comes on at the bottom of the screen. I'm thinking this is great, because then I can just select one of the two options I have been given, which is "Restart" or "Advanced options". But here is when the problem comes into play. I cannot physically select either one. The restart button is highlighted but when I go to choose it nothing happens. I can't select either. Thank you for any help that will get me around this.

Hi,
Welcome to our community. Thank you for sharing the details of the issue. Try the following steps to complete the diagnostics and share the results.
1. Shutdown the tablet.
2. Then hold power and volume up together and let go when you see the DELL symbol
3. It should automatically take you into the diagnostic screen.
4. Select diagnostic option, and it will run it.

Hey Lijo, and thank you for the welcome and the help. When I select diagnostic option, the dell logo pops up with the "Preparing Automatic Repair" (there is also a "Esc and mini keyboard logo on the top right side of this dell screen), then I get another screen with the Dell Logo again but at the bottom it says diagnosing your PC. Shortly after that it runs me straight into the Blue Automatic Repair screen. It won't allow me to choose the "Restart" or "Advanced Options".

I finally got to the diagnostic screen. It says "Testing completed. One or more errors were detected." ePSA 4234.03 - Failure (Error Code: 2000-0415) (Validation: 82740) Service Tag , BIOS A12. Got check marks on everything in the All devices section but the "cables". It's saying in the Cable section that the Motherboard PPID is Not installed. It's also saying that Wireless Wan is not installed. "Cables - Check the following cable, jumper, connection, or sensor: Power Supply"

I entered the error code and enter the other information. I did what the site recommended and after I connected the cable and ran the diagnostic and everything came back with check marks. But once I exit the diagnostic it still goes to the blue "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen and I still can't select the Restart or Advanced Options. What do I do next.

icechalk,
Maybe DELL-Lijo J can suggest on how to get the system running. If the system is under warranty, then contact Dell Tech Support in your Country.

New information. I took my tablet charger chord and connected one end to my PC and the other to my tablet. When I booted into diagnostics this time, I got a screen that pretty much said that the tablet would proceed considering the charger was not the right one. The diagnostics starts and ends by telling me "ePSA 4234.03 - Success All tests passed". When I exit and reboot I get the preparing automatic repair screen (with the dell logo), then another screen which says diagnosing your PC, then I right back to the Blue Automatic Repair screen. I still get no reaction when I touch the Restart button or the Advanced options. So, now I have no error codes at all in the diagnostics and it's still doing the same thing.

OK, I got a USB keyboard and this help me get pass the Blue screen(seems the touch screen feature doesn't work during this part). I choose Advanced Options. Then I choose to troubleshoot, and then "Refresh your PC". At the "Refresh your PC" screen it says "You need to sign in as an administrator to continue, but there aren't any administrator accounts on this PC(what happened to my admin account?). That part makes no sense to me. I have my password for when I normally log in, but how can I sign in when I can't choose an account. I have a USB Keyboard so we should be able to come at this problem from a whole new angle.

Thank you for the reply, but when I press the tab key it just drop to the bottom of the screen where it says "Forgot your password or don't see your account?" After I select that it reads "This list only shows administrator accounts that have previously signed into this PC, and does not include standard user or domain accounts. You need to be signed in as an administrator to use some repair and restore tools. If you don't have a password for any of these accounts, you can restart to try signing in to Windows to manage your user accounts". After I restart the tablet, I'm back to square one with it going to the Preparing Automatic Repair screen. It makes no sense that I don't have any administrator accounts. I need help just reinstalling windows 8.1 again. That's the only thing I can think of that will fix this whole problem.
