Ripping movies to play on the venue 7
I want to rip my dvd's to play on my venue 7 while traveling. I've tried Handbrake and got just a badly pixelated playback. Does anybody know in what format I should rip my dvd's so they'll playback on my venue?

I was able to make it work with non-Disney movies. I'm still working on decrypting Disney stuff though.

breckrider1,
Did you try taking the largest VOB file and copy it to your system?

Tempbreckrider1,
Disney movies are hard to decode. You may have to purchase third party software.

Tempbreckrider1,
Do you have the codecs installed to play the video. If you have Windows 8 it wold be Windows 8 codec pack

I have tried decrypting the dvd then using handbrake to convert it to an Mpeg4. All I can get to play is the little disney intro but not the actual movie.

Doing that will probably save me a huge headache going forward. Any in particular that you like? I've used DVD decryptor for years but it's no longer supported.

Tempbreckrider1,
I have used DVD Flick before for my home videos. The third party software the coworkers used is no longer available.
Dif you also try a different player, like VLC Player. If you install this, just do NOT turn up the volume to a high sound or it may burn out the speakers. If Dell see that VLC Player is installed, the speakers may not be covered under warranty.

I've also used DVDFlick with some success. I believe the problem is that it's a Disney DVD. I'm just going to have to buy a piece of software for those. I was able to successfully use handbrake on some of my other DVD's and get them on the venue. I had to decrypt them first.

Tempbreckrider1,
did you find a solution to your problem, because I am having the same issue. I bought an bunch of DVDs for a 15 hour flight, but when i convert them using handbrake the video is pixelated.
i noticed you said you decrypted them first and it worked for every video but disneys. how did you decrypt them?

I used dvddecryptor on non-Disney dvd's. Still haven't decrypted any Disney yet.
