OTG cable works on Venue 8 Android?
I have Dell Venue 8 Android version and the Venue 8 Pro version. The OTG cable works perfectly with the Windows tablet, but not works with the Android tablet. Is it a problem with the Android Tablet? Or is it a software problem? I tried more than one otg cable and no one worked with the Android Venue 8 Tablet. Is anybody having problems with the otg cable in the Venue 8 Android tablet? Thanks .

I had found that if you connect this OTG cable http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00C452XFO and connect the female microUSB to the tablet power supply you can read the thumb drive. Is this a problem from my tablet, or is the rule? Does the Android Tablet Venue 8 not supply energy to connected thumb drive using OTG cables ? Any comments?

I have a venue 8 (android) and otg works perfectly on mine. I am using a basic micro USB to female USB otg adaptor and a thumb drive powers up and I can read the files with no external power. My venue 8 is running 4.2.2. I am one of the unlucky few that have tablets that won't update to 4.3

4.3 came through for me today. I retested my otg connection and it still works just fine.
