I had bought a Dell Venue 8 just around Christmas, last night it stopped charging. I tried multiple cords along with the Dell cord from the box, but nothing. It's stuck on 0%, not good at all !!!!

There is nothing wrong with 04. I updated to 04 a day after I bought my tablet a month ago. No problems.

I called tech support, they said that there is a bio something or another update that needs to be applied to the tablet. They told me to charge the device as much as I can (which is 0) but i can turn it on for a little bit til it dies. They said there will be enough time to connect to the device to run the update and everything will be back to normal. I will try this today and I wil post again.

The Topic is that your device is not charging anymore, neither is mine. There's no link I can send, Dell support is going to update my Bios from 03 to 04, I don't know how that is off topic when its going to fix my charging problem.

I contacted Dell and got it fixed in 2 minutes. He said press and hold the power button for 2 minutes. After that, release the button and then press the power button again, the device showed 100% fully charged. He then said plug in the device and see if the charging icon comes up on the battery and it did. He said the reason the device did this is because the device cannot by no means be over charged, meaning it cannot be on the charger for more than 3 to 4 hours. He told me when this device is overcharged it starts dispersing power to other components that will freeze the device in the 0% state. It is working fine now. Hope this helps, let me know if it works for you.

Hummm, I'm not buying it. I leave it plugged into the charger over night, and sometimes as long as 24 hours. Once it's fully charge (about 3 or 4 hours), the charging light goes out, and it stops charging even if it's still plugged in. Haven't had a problem yet.
