Latitude 10 ST2 F2 and F12 not working with external keyboard keeps asking for password

I am trying to refresh my tablet running Windows 8 Pro due to boot problems and when it starts up with the Dell screen and the progress bar, the F2 setup and F12 boot options will not work.  It does show those options in the bottom right hand corner but when I press the F2 or F12 key on the external attached keyboard it just keeps asking for a password that I do not have.  The keyboard is known to be operational and I have even tried another keyboard.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks and have a great day!
