I'm getting really sick of this

I've had my Dell Venue 8 for a couple of years, and overall it's an ok device. But I regularly get the dreaded red snake wrapping around the wifi connection. I have faithfully followed the various suggestions, but every so often, ***: no network connection. "driver--or hardware--problem" in the network adapter.

What gives? Why can't they fix it, either Dell or the network adapter folks? It makes me very unlikely to ever get another Dell device.

I have reset it several times, turned of the router, looked for recent drivers, and can't get on wifi. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
