Dell Venue Pro 8 on screen keyboard
The on screen keyboard has a peculiarity of entering characters multiple times while casually typing. I found one other post which also discusses the issue but that seems to refer to some other issues with the touchscreen.
My gripe is that the input speed of the on-screen keyboard is so fast that it mistakes a general tap as a long tap and continues to enter the character several time. This is akin to pressing and holding down on one key to enter it multiple times.
My problem with my Dell Venue 8 Pro (32 GB, no 3G) is that even a brief tap is interpreted as a long press. Is there a setting similar to the mouse double clicking speed in windows? Or maybe some setting which restricts typing a character just once per tap (no matter how how long I hold it down)?

Beware of Filter keys. IMHO, it's a built in virus. When I turned it on, it put a humongous delay between keystrokes, and I think I heard that it did the same for the buttons. I had the tablet synced to my Desktop, so it affected my keyboard there too. I thought I had serious problems with my Desktop until I did some research.

Having the same issue with the on screen keyboard will starting typing on its own. Daughter really likes having the Venue for homework, but spends more time correcting issues from additional characters being entered from the sensitive keyboard.

Thanks, things have improved a lot, especially in the full keyboard layout,,, but the on screen touch keyboard with the bigger keys is still a struggle.
But there still might some hope I been noticing that the excellent autocorrect from windows phone is also available and it kicks in once it has studied my typing habits enough.
