Dell Venue pro 8 black screen sometimes if waking it with windows button
Sometimes if I wake up my Venue 8 pro tablet with the windows button, all I see is black screen. There seems to be minimal back light leaking from the screen but pressing the windows button a few times won't display the log on screen. The tablet is NOT turned off. If I press the power button, I always get the screen turn on with log in screen, immediately. Is this a common issue or am I unlucky? Thanks.

Hello, I'm having this issue with my unit as well...DV8Pro won't wake-up from sleep. I had to hold press the power button for 10 secs in order to boot it up again. I just had it for a month. Did anyone found a solution to this? Is dell listening to its customers?

Please don't double-post--it just clutters and confuses matters . . . . :emotion-5:

Guys, I was really surprised but the solution for my device was just do not turn wifi off.
Please, try and let me know if it works for you.

If this button is disabled than you haven't ever update this driver.
My driver was updated, so the first step I tried is to rollback.
Sorry, I cannot help you in such case.

Try to roll back wifi driver and do not turn it off.
(Open Device manager -> Network adapters -> Dell wireless 802.11 Adapter -> (Open Properties Window) -> Driver Tab -> Roll Back Driver)
After rolling back reboot device. Let see if it works.

What to do to enable the roll back driver button? Does this mean I cannot use this feature? Am I required to use the system restore instead? Actually, I've temporarily fixed this issue by not letting the device sleep and just turn off the display which messes up the battery life. I have to live with this while waiting for the fix.

Hello, I had the same issue and tried all possible solution (reformatting my tablet 6 times) updating drivers, windows update files, etc...nothing helped. At the end I found a similar issue for a Dell venue 11 Pro user who suggested to disable TPM and Bitlocker. As soon as I disabled bitlocker from Win8 control panel and also TPM/Bitlocker from the Bios (Secure boot - Disabled) , the tablet started to wake from sleep without any issue...it's been 1 week now and it has not failed once (it used to get black screen 3-4 times a day before the change).
