Dell Venue Pro 11 stylus doesn't work -- at all

I've had this computer since April 2014, so I should have one of the "improved" styli. From the beginning it never worked right. I kept having to take the battery out and put it back in. Then it progressed to only working right after a reboot. Now it is totally dead, as far as I can tell. No, it's not the battery. I tested it in an n-trig stylus with my old latitude (which never, ever, had a problem. My Samsung S pen works great. Why is it so hard to get a functional stylus for this machine????

Please advise on what I should do to have a functional stylus, as it is not considered part of my system (optional? really?) and I can't seem to get any product support.

I just received the new stylus and it is totally different from the first one. This is good. It looks different, it feels different, and most importantly... it actually works -- very well in fact.

I'd keep trying for a replacement, under the warranty.

I am very happy to report that the agent came back to say he is sending a new stylus. I will report back!

so far, I've been transferred, put on permanent hold, dropped, now I'm waiting on the online chat for an agent to come back after having told me the stylus isn't part of my system. that's what I mean by no support.

With 'looks different', do you mean that new stylus is visually different than the original version as well? If so, could you post a picture somewhere?
