Dell Venue 8 Video Playback Problem in Gallery

I have a Venue 8 running on 4.3 Jellybean and whenever I try to play a video I recorded from the gallery app that's on default on the Tablet, it reboots. It just shows the Dell logo and goes back to the lock screen I have. I can't play any video in Gallery because after 2 seconds or so, it reboots again. I searched the internet if anyone had similar problems but did not find any solution.

Download MX Player from the play store.  Then try playing a video again.  This time a menu should pop up asking which player you want to use.  MX player or video player.  The options are "once" (it will give you a choice again). Or "Always".  If you choose "always" the player you chose will automatically run every time you play a video. Choose mx player (always) to set it as your default.  It may ask you to install a codec from the play store.  Go ahead and do that.  See if that works.

Well I haven't downloaded any media player or anything. It's the default player you have when you record something and play it in the Gallery. What do you mean by clear my default apps? And how would I make another video player my default?

I just recorded a short video and then tried to play it through Gallery.  The first thing that came up was options for a video player to use.  The video played fine with the stock video player and with MX player.  Maybe you have a funky video player set as your default player.  Clear your default apps and try it again.

Well I downloaded the MX Player and it didn't tell ask me to download the codec but it did ask me if I wanted it by default and I said "Always". It did work because the video continued to play. Can you uninstall the original video player?

I don't think so.  I wouldn't worry about it though.  Just use mx player from now on.  Its a great app.
