DELL Venue 8 PRO will not respond to a charge.

Hi...Yes..I bought a Venue 8 PRO early on and barely used it .Finally decided to give it time and it will not accept a charge.I really like this tablet..it is basically BRAND NEW.I have read advice that I should try and open it and disconnect the battery and then hook it back up.That this should fix the battery lockdown.TRUE? Or would DELL please step up and fix my tablet?! Wade
