Hi. I don't see why plugging the Plugable into the Port+ with the included Dell charger also plugged in won't work. Of course, it's a USB 2.0 device rather than 3.0. In fact, it will probably work better, because the Plugable has it's own power supply. This means that downstream USB devices will draw from IT instead of the tablet. That means that the tablet will see only data + charge current when used with the Port+, producing a minimal hit on the charger.
The DisplayLink driver that makes the video magic happen has also recently been updated. It's friendly with the connected standby sleep state of the tablet now.

It doesn't have an HDMI port, so, no. The TV connection has to be made wirelessly using Miracast, which I have no experience with. Maybe someone else can help you with that.
Also, when it's charging, you can't really do anything else with the port *
If you want to use the port for things other than charging (mouse, keyboard, etc,), you'll need to get an OTG adapter (around $4).
* If you look on YouTube, you can find videos of jury rigged methods for using the tablets port for other uses while charging, but it's not for the typical user.

Hi, Regulonpro - there's a product coming out in June that will make it easier for us to use USB and charge at the same time. You can read more about it here.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J5S2TS4
To make the charge port work for USB, you need an OTG or "On the go" adapter. These are inexpensive at Amazon. It won't work with charging, however.
Your tablet has built-in support for Miracast. This requires an adapter on the TV. Netgear makes a popular model called the Push2TV.
http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Push2TV-Wireless-Miracast-Certified/dp/B00904JILO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1398453267&sr=1-1&keywords=netgear+miracast+ptv3000
(It needs a firmware update to work correctly with the V8P.)
You can also use DisplayLink to run a monitor over USB. A company called Plugable has demonstrated running four monitors from a V8P. This is pretty cool.

Ah, but I was typing in my masterpiece when you posted that...
Yes, Regulonpro, we were talking about the same device. I'm a little torn about it being slightly pricy, but if they make it durable, that would certainly help make the decision. I have, which shall remain nameless, an OTG cable from Amazon that I think will NOT be durable. In fact, it's sort of flimsy. A much better one is much cheaper, but it's availability comes and goes on Amazon. I'm trying to obtain two of them just to have a backup.

Notice that it has an angle plug. By the way, that "In stock" means that it exists somewhere on the planet. Apparently it's coming by twenty-mule team since the expected delivery date is May 16th. (I hope those mules can swim.) :emotion-59:

hello, im currently planning on making my dell venue pro to function like a desktop, so im planning on getting the http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ECDM78E/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=DHKXJEWITC7U&coliid=I3OYE660B7GW2M&psc=1 but the problem is it wont charge while docked on desktop mode... so i need a cable that will make it charge while connected to the dock.
So buying the +port will my dell charge while docked? thanks!

This summer Kickstarter backers funded an all-in-one docking station specifically designed to charge and connect devices with the Dell Venue 8 Pro. The project was successful, and just finished shipping to backers this month. It's now available:

There are also a bunch of videos up showing cool setups turning the Dell Venue 8 Pro into a full desktop replacement with this dock. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!

I've just ordered my ud-pro8 from plugable today through eBay - global easy buy (in my country). They don't deliver it to my location if I ordered it through normal eBay.com or amazon.com. Anyway waiting for the exciting product, my venue 8 pro can be enhanced to a desktop now :)

Many thanks to Bernie to go ahead with the development of this extraordinary utility.

My Venue 8 Pro is running Win 10. My problem is not being able to SIGN OUT of various applications like Amazon or Vitacost to name a couple. I bring up the menu with the option to Sign Out but before I can select the option to Sign Out, the menu goes away! Please tell me what I am doing wrong. BTW, I could not find out where to ask a new question so I used the option to Reply to a previously asked question. Again, please tell me what I am doing wrong. TIA.

Hi boot strap,
It sounds like you may need to calibrate your screen to have it accurately respond to touch. The following article explains how to calibrate the touchscreen on your tablet for Windows 10 - link
Is this issue seen across all applications or is it just certain ones?
