Dell Venue 7 - Serious Lag/Freezing

We bought a Dell Venue 7 3000 about two months ago (brand new from Dell) to replace a Venue 7 that we bought last year that was broken by my son.

The old Venue worked great.

The new one, not so much. It lags severely and freezes constantly. Surfing the internet is near impossible. Initially when I first got the newer tablet I used my account to download all the apps that were on my google accounts. I reset the tablet to factory settings, made sure it was up to date, and downloaded the apps I used manually. It still lags and freezes.

I use my tablet mainly for Kindle, some social networking, a sketchbook, and playing one or two games like Clash of Clans.

Any help, please?

Thanks

Sorry no help to offer but I can add I recently got a Venue 8 3000, and it is the most awful performing device I have ever owned. I should have returned it as I would consider the performance a serious defect and it makes it unusable.

I finally had the time to sit down and contact Dell's tech support over the issue.

They had me erase all of the apps I downloaded. No fix.

They then had me reset the tablet. No fix.

Then they had me delete the Amazon apps that were factory installed on the tablet (and re-appear after the hard reset). This seemed to fix the issue.

But, since I use the Amazon apps a lot, I tried to re-download them. The one for the Amazon Shopping is actually not compatible with the tablet anymore and therefore is not downloadable.

I don't know if it is related but all the rest of the apps and games I normally use downloaded fine and the tablet is functioning as it should.

Mayhaps this will help others? I'm sorry to hear that ya'll are having trouble with your tablets also. It is quite frustrating.

Interesting!

On a whim I sat down on Sunday night and did something very similar. I deleted the Amazon Store app, Amazon Kindle (which seems to want to run all the time, even if I have never logged in to my Kindle account) and the Maxx Audio app (I just felt suspicious about this one).

It has been running AOK since then...

I am having this same problem with my Dell Venue 7 3740. The lag and freezing makes this tablet practically unusable and I don't have any Amazon apps on it so I don't know what to do. Help!!
