Dell Venue 11 Pro won't charge, won't turn on
I've sent this thing back 4 times. They never fixed the problem (initially, wouldn't hold the charge - battery drained quickly while plugged in) and now it won't even turn on at all, even while plugged in. Presumably the battery just doesn't charge. Anyhow, it's out of warranty by more than 30 days (probably because it spent 6+ weeks in transit or at the repair center or I "just kept using it for a few days to see if the problem is resolved" too many times so they won't take it in for service unless I pay $270. No chance I'm sending it back to them a fifth time when it's clearly a lemon.
Anybody else have similar problems? I also had all the same issues with the keyboard dock - when the keyboard is charged, the mouse touchpad doesn't work, etc.
Basically, this thing is a huge lemon. I pre-ordered it too. Ordered it November 2013, got it in January 2014 and it was never really right. I basically just never used it and then finally decided in November 2014 to try to get the problems resolved. A few months later, MANY hours on the phone with them trying to just get me to download firmware or BIOS or whatever that had no effect on it, and it's just a paperweight. Won't turn on. Won't charge.

Dell finally took it back after a bunch of social media complaints despite it being out of warranty. Sent it back, they replaced the charger and the I/O port. Works perfectly now. No idea if the charger was bad and that's what originally screwed up the I/O port, but it was definitely broken and they failed to fix it the first four times. It actually works the way it's supposed to (stays charged when plugged in, charges quickly, doesn't drain fast) now. You're still in warranty, so I would definitely get in touch ASAP and be very quick to send it back and make sure it's actually working. You will spend like 20 hours on the phone downloading chipsets and BIOS updates, but in the end, they're going to need to replace the parts. My big mistake was waiting until November on a unit that I purchased in January (I actually BOUGHT it in November, it didn't ship til January) to start trying to fix the problem. I recommend getting to work on that immediately.

You have to send it in for them to fix it. They need to replace parts on it. No software fix will do it.
They can fix it eventually....just need to keep pushing for it to happen.

You need to send it in if you are having any of these issues. First you need to call and talk to them for several hours trying to fix it with things that won't work. They are certainly able to fix it, you just need to be adamant about the issue and fight for it. Don't take "try the new BIOS and ChipSet driver" for an answer. It's a HARDWARE problem that needs to be sent in for replacement. You have no other choice. My big mistake was taking a week or two between calling to tell them it was still broken and eventually the time ran out on my warranty.

Having same problem. It will not charge at all. I don't want to have to send it in, especially if they wont fix it anyway even though I bought extended warranty.

I had the same issue over a year ago. Finally got them to replace the motherboard under warranty. Now I've got the same issue on the replacement unit. But I'm post-warranty, so they want $320 for tech support. For a known problem and a lemon product. I'm throwing this in the trash and will never buy a Dell product again. Nobody should. Tell everyone.

Hello,
I am having this problem as well. I have sent the tablet back to Dell when it was under warranty, I have gone through three adapters, which, by the way, were or are made in some other country, and if you notice on the adapter the plugin to the computer is backwards. The way the tablet was made when you plug in the adapter to the tablet the side that goes in is backwards, therein lies the problem. I know they were replacing customers who purchased the 7130 line of Dell Venue Pro 11. I have decided to take mine to a computer place in town to see if they can fix it. I did read somewhere that it has to do with some connection that is behind the battery, what that is I do not know because I am not a computer technician. I do not have a keyboard dock for mine, just the tablet and on the third adapter. I am tempted to contact an *** or Consumer Reports in regards to this piece of junk that I am making payments on. I received mine in January 2014 as well. I realize I am responding late to your posting, only because I am a bit miffed about this whole tablet thing and they should have replaced all of the Dell 5130's that customer's purchased because of this problem. Mine turns on; however, I need to charge it and the adapter does not work and it is not the adapter because I used the other adapter that a friend has for their Dell Pro Venue 11 that seems to work fine. I think my tablet was dropped somewhere along the line. Hopefully I can locate a technician at a shop or at a college that would know what the problem is without charging me a lot of money.

Good luck. I bought a Microsoft Surface 3 that has worked fantastic. I'm never buying a Dell product again.

Good luck!
I bugged them enough on social media that they finally agreed to fix it for good. I never dropped it or did anything that would damage it. It was just broken from the start. Very annoying that I had to send it back FIVE times to finally get it fixed and the fifth one was lucky. Works great now. They replaced the whole mother board, I think, and sent me a new charger that is completely different than the original one that was probably faulty.

Hello I have had my dell venue pro 11 for 2 years now and my charging port isn't working as of last month. I am hearing of these "motherboard" port problems and mine has the same issue. i have the docking station and it works great to charge and use. I called Dell 5 times and each time they said my warranty is up and I would have to pay 300$ to have it fixed...Its a defect in their product..
Can someone help me get this replaced at no cost?
Very upsetting don't want to buy another dell if this is what happens..
